Friends of Kensal Rise Library
Public Meeting
29 March 2001, 6.30pm at Kensal Rise Library
There will be a meeting
to set up a "Friends of the Library" group whose aim it will be
to promote the facilities our library has to offer.
Although our library continues to enjoy good usage it is important such useage is maintained and that we work with the library service to improve both the opening hours and range of stock and services in the library. The success achieved with the Centenary Celebrations held in September 2000 clearly demonstrated resident's commitment to and affection for the library.
The establishment of a group of "Friends of the Library" has the full support of the Library Service of Brent, and such groups already exist in other parts of Brent and London generally. Although we will work with the Library Service the group will be independent and will act always in the interests of maintaining the library as a community resource.
The meeting will decide the way in which the group will proceed but we envisage that as a group our main function will be to encourage usage of the library. For the first meeting we have invited a representative from Cricklewood Library who will talk to us about the "Friends Group" at that library.
All residents are welcome to attend
